~Loft Crag and away to Bowfell~

Today I had the opportunity to walk with friend and fellow Online Fellwalking Club member, Simon Howard. Of all my visits to The Langdales, I'd never gone up the fells by the route ascending Loft Crag, so this way was chosen. We met at Booth's in Bowness, fueled up and then made our way to the New Dungeon Ghyll car park....

This is one of the reports put on the website well after the event. Such reports tend to lack depth in commentary.
The photostream may appear to have come to an abrupt end, but the descent down the band was in decreasing light and the path was very icy in places, so cameras were put away.
Walkers: Simon Howard and Me
Time taken: 8hrs 10 minutes over a distance of approx 12 miles
Route: NDG car park, Loft Crag, Pike O'Stickle, Stake Pass, Rossett Pike, Angle Tarn, Ore Gap, Bowfell, Three Tarns, The Band and back to the car NDG.
Weather and conditions: Cold and overcast, no rain or wind.
Greetings Count: Low, this was not an early start and there were not too many folk about.
Richard's Refreshment Review: We visited Booth's at Bowness before the walk and had a hearty breakfast, they opened at 8am, if they opened a little earlier, say 6am, I would visit more often.
